Our Key Stage 3 pupils develop key theatrical skills for performing in addition to learning how to shape a performance for an audience. We study a range of styles and practitioners to provide pupils with a varied and balanced curriculum.
Pupils explore a range of themes and issues that connects with our strong school ethos and British Values such as: peer pressure, responsibility, mutual respect and morality.

At Key Stage 4 we follow AQA GCSE Drama Specification. The course is comprised of a Devised Performance, a Scripted Performance and a Written Examination.
Pupils explore a wide range of texts that may include: Blood Brothers, Noughts & Crosses, Girls Like That, Two, Shakers, The Crucible, Bouncers, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Too Much Punch for Judy, Missing Dan Nolan
The school runs a variety of Performing Arts events each term for the pupils to take part in. These include:
· Christmas Concert
· Assemblies
· GCSE Performance evenings
· Summer Concert
· Cluster Concert (involving local primary schools)
Every two years the school acquires the performance rights to different Musical Theatre productions.

Key Stage 3 pupils focus on music performance, composition and recording skills. Pupils will learn a variety of well known pieces of Music and be able to record them using the school equipment.
The school has excellent Music practise and recording facilities including 15 iMac computers, practise and drum rooms.
At Key Stage 4 pupils study the AQA Music GCSE specification.

The school currently offers instrumental lessons with visiting music tutors regularly throughout the school day. These lesson times are rotated each week so students do not miss vital curriculum time.
