Coffee and Raspberry Pi

On Tuesday 24th May, Simon Marsden- Senior Lecturer in  Initial Teacher Training for Computing, from the University of Portsmouth- came into PCS to work with Year 10 and 11 Computer Science students.

Year 11s enjoyed a 2 hour session preparing for the Algorithms, New Technologies and Impact of Computing aspects of their exam paper, whilst Year 10 students looked at the evolving picture of Computer Science and possible career pathways at University level study.  Matt Andrews used Skype and a robot arm to make a cup of coffee back at the University and students used a variety of hands on approaches and magic tricks to understand algorithms, programming,  internet security and the Dark Web.
